Library Offers Free Tax Assistance Thursdays – Feb. 3 to April 14
The Keene Public Library will have AARP Tax-Aide volunteers at 60 Winter Street on Thursday evenings from 5:00 pm to 8:00 PM and by appointment at the Senior Center on 70 Court Street on Monday afternoons from 12:30 to 4:00 pm. There is no charge to the taxpayer at either location.
The volunteers are trained to assist with filing the 1040 form and the more standard of the schedules, including Schedules A and B. This is a first come, first served assistance that most likely you will have to wait at the library.
People who can go to the Senior Center during the day are encouraged to so and people with complicated tax returns are encouraged to seek paid tax assistance.
AARP Tax-Aide is the nation’s largest free, volunteer-run tax assistance and preparation service. It is available to taxpayers with low-and moderate-income and gives special attention to people age 60 and older.
